Basmati rice is a long grain rice. It has a unique aroma and is popular all over the world. It is a completely different type of rice from the Japanese rice and is ideal for use in pilafs and curries. The rice favored by Japanese does not have a scent, but the rice favored by Indians and Pakistanis has a scent. The older the rice is, the higher the price locally.

Basmati rice can of course be cooked in an ordinary rice cooker, but it is better to cook it without a rice cooker.

How to cook basmati rice in a rice cooker
1: Quickly rinse once with water.
2: Add about 20% more water to cook the rice than domestic rice.

Indian Style: Cooking Basmati Rice in the Indian Style
1: Fill a pot with enough water to bring to a boil, then add the pre-sharpened rice. I do not cover it.
2: If it looks like it’s going to spill over, turn the heat down a bit or stir it up.
3:After about 10 minutes, try the rice and when it feels like there is a subtle core left in the rice, dump out all the water.
4: Steam the rice on low heat for 3 to 5 minutes on a thick, low flame, and it’s ready to go.
